Interview With My Mom
I just came across this file on my computer. I think it’s from an idea I had two-ish years ago to interview my mom on my birthday. I never posted it, but here it is now, a few years late.
Tell me about the day of my birth. It was August 5th, two weeks past my due date, and I was getting really annoyed. Kay. Bad start. Sorry, I drove myself to the hospital to be induced, and as I lumbered up...

Happy Birthday, Mom
I had no idea what to get my mom for her birthday. And I landed on the idea that I should think about what my mom loves. She loves her kids. But she already has 6 of them, so that was out. She loves running, but there’s not much you need for that other than legs, which she fortunately has.
Then I remembered she loves writing. In fact, it was my mom’s passion for writing that made me...
The other day I mentioned a video I did with my friends out in LA. While I was there we also shot this behind the scenes stuff. I think it came out really real, and also pretty funny. They’re hilarious dudes, and good friends. Follow their new series over at BottomoftheLadder.com!
Awesome Things I got to do in LA
In no particular order (Other than most to least favorite.)
- Sat on a roof with a glass of Bourbon and had the best talk ever with my good friend, Mike.
- Saw the sun set in Santa Monica.
- Met a ton of wonderful people. including but not limited to Heather, Big Dog, Samantha, Offer, Jackie, Greg and Jessie.
- Smoked a blunt and danced to Hall and Oates with a porn star. (Not linking but if...

Jake Hurwitz - I’m Happy Here
My Band Ruled is an idea that Cohen, Vince and I had for a tumblr one night. And roughly a year later, one of us was motivated enough to make it! Here’s my entry.
Though, die hard Jake and Eddie fans will tell you this song is actually called “Pretty Please.”
Think you’re better? Submit your own!

Saturday Night
To set this up: Jeff “Rosie” Rosenberg is one of my best friends and has also been dating my sister for the past two years or so. He’s the most chilled out person I know
Proof: On Saturday we somehow found out Jeff was wearing jeans, long johns under the jeans, mesh shorts under the long johns, and under the mesh shorts… another pair of mesh shorts. While we were all...

Homecoming
Four years ago I failed out of college in Pennsylvania. I moved home and enrolled, part time, at Southern Connecticut State University. I spent my year at home in New Haven drinking a lot, sleeping a lot and missing a lot of class. I dropped out before second semester began.
A lot has happened since then, but this is the important part. Four years after I enrolled, three and a half years after I...

The Drive
I’m leaving today for my first cross country road trip with two of my best friends Jeff and Steve. We’re starting in New York City and ending in San Diego. I’m not very well traveled and I’ve been really craving an adventure for a while. Needless to say, I’m pumped. We saved money, we rented a car, and we intentionally have no plan.
For the most part, I want to...
4th of July
Was wonderful. My little brother cooked pancakes, I walked through a wide open field, I saw a waterfall. I drove fast on the highway. I bought a three dollar shirt with a huge Eagle on it. I ate a raw clam, drank a cold beer. I got into a water fight with two three year olds. I won.
I swam out into the ocean and did a somersault off a raft. I watched my friends get wasted. I foraged through the...

Furnishing
I recently moved into a new apartment. I’m living in Brooklyn now with my friends Jeff and Julia. We moved out here about three weeks ago. Jeff and I are both coming from studio apartments and Julia is coming from a dorm, so we’re pretty short in the furniture department. Being in Brooklyn means we can afford more space, and right now the only thing occupying our kitchen/dining...

– My Mom.
I’ve said this before, but she’s way better at writing than I am.

The latest Hardly Working video is not so loosely based on something Patrick and I have actually done at a bar.
Not the kissing part. But the talking about it a lot.

Nerf sent us a bunch of fun stuff for some reason. I got pwned.
I really can’t get over how fierce Jeff looks in this video. If only I had known what was coming I would have panned quicker.

Learn Guitar To Get Laid, written by Jake and Amir, shot by Vince, cut by Matt, produced by Eva, directed by me.
Digg it!
This video wins the “Seems A Lot Like I Wrote It Fully Knowing I’d Be Playing The Male Role” award. Fun fact, I actually did learn to play Wonderwall in high school for this exact purpose.
Oh, and while I’m here plugging videos…...

Amir and I got to interview The Lonely Island this past week. It was incredibly intimidating since, similar to Amir, I have been a fan for a very long time. In fact, I was an avid Lonely Island visitor before I ever was a regular to CollegeHumor.
One cool behind the scenes thing that will give you an idea of how nice and down to earth Jorma, Akiva and Andy are is this: When we got to the...

Old school Jake and Amir fans might appreciate tonight’s episode of “The CollegeHumor Show” a little more than others. Tonight at 9:30/8:30c on MTV.
Afterparty at Jake’s. Nope. After Jake’s party is the hotel lobby. It’s not.
It was weird and awesome reshooting something over the span of a few days, with lights, makeup and a crew that originally took 30 minutes with a Canon...

This is great. Considering one of my other favorite online videos is that acoustic Hey Ya cover, I’d say there’s a definite trend.
More heartfelt renditions of rap songs please.
Wow. Amir, Jeff, where the FUCK was I for this? Please Digg and reblog.
Sorry, Cassels, but you deserve this.
You do.
You don’t know if you’re gonna laugh at first, but then you do.
High Praise
I got a bunch of nice texts and phone calls after the MTV show premiered last night, but my favorite was from my high school friend, Mark Berman, who said: Congrats on your first beer pong win ever.
Thanks for bringing me back down to earth, Berm.

Pretty legit! In every picture I was trying to look super serious, I guess the photographer caught me though.
Also, we’re in USA Today- and there’s a clip of our show in the online article!

This is exciting, good work Zanuss and Lori and all the other people that probably put work into this that I don’t know about! Except, Cohen. I don’t know if you worked on this, but I refuse to congratulate you.

Hopefully our show is as hilarious as our behind the scenes antics.
Oh snap dragon, son!
Update: We’re on New York Magazines website!
This was one of my favorite Hardly Workings to shoot. It was a day where we had to shoot several videos and only a few of us were around. We also had to keep it “simple.” Meaning no effects, not too many shots and no fake blood- one of our favorite things to use.
But restriction breeds creativity right? And now, Dan, Sarah and I are better friends for having banded together to...
